TLS Writing Scores

Congratulations to our students for doing so well on their Writing Assessment and to our teachers for their instruction in this important academic area!

As part of our effort to maintain high academic standards, we gave students in 3rd – 8th grade a formal writing assessment in April.  Each grade level was given a prompt to write on and the papers were then sent to be formally scored and compared at a national level.  Scores were based on ideas and development, organization and coherence, word choice, sentences and paragraphs, grammar, and writing mechanics (punctuation, etc).

When we consider the results, there are several different scores that are reported to us, but there is one in particular we focus on – the Stanine.  This score reports whether our class scores are below, at or above average.  The class scores are given below.

Grade 3: Stanine 6 Average

Grade 4: Stanine 7 Above Average

Grade 5: Stanine 7 Above Average

Grade 6: Stanine 8 Above Average

Grade 7: Stanine 7 Above Average

Grade 8: Stanine 7 Above Average

Great work student, teachers, and parents!

Principal's Desk

Welcome to Trinity Lutheran School! We have been blessed in providing a quality Christian education in Orlando for 58 years! The years go very quickly as the students learn various lessons, attend field trips, participate in sports and school program, and our annual community events. Each year is successful because of our dedicated teachers and staff. Their love for educating our students is clearly demonstrated in all that they do. We continue to work in our purpose of providing academic excellence and nurturing our students’ personal relationships with God. A great education requires a partnership of the home, the school, and the church. On behalf of the faculty, I pledge to work as a partner with you to help your child(ren) reach their fullest potential. If I, or a staff member can answer any questions or assist you in any other way, please contact the school office.
